Southpaw is a black, silver, green and yellow colored hairy monster and the official mascot of the Chicago White Sox, a Major League Baseball club based in Chicago, Illinois and placed in the Central Division of the American League.

Southpaw made his major league debut on June 13, 2004. Generally Southpaw is a nickname for a left-handed pitcher, but since he works on the South Side, admirers started addressing him as Southpaw and the name stuck to him. The admirers are so fond of him and have been so cordial since he made his Major League debut. The Southpaw loves getting out and visits kids and families at the ballpark. He is simply in awe with the club and appears in every home game at U.S. Cellular Field.

He is also in charity chores and does community appearances at hospitals and parades around the city. The Southpaw also takes requests for private appearances like birthday parties, corporate events, weddings, receptions etc. He is a fitness freak and is very fond of eating lots of fruits and vegetables to and likes to watch White Sox games.

He is also fond of outing and enjoys the outdoors when he is not obligated to perform at U.S. Cellular Field. Southpaw enjoys playing baseball and having fun with all White Sox fans, particularly the kids, and loves to get out in the community to make new friends.

In 2004 All-Star Game in Houston he spent time with all the other mascots in Major League Baseball. All the mascots together were a crazy bunch of hullabaloo. He even rode a mechanical bull at a pre-game party with some of the other mascots. Southpaw graduated from White Sox Academy University.
